Nordic co-operation meeting in fisheries development aid 2006

Thirteen represtentavies from governmental development aid agencies in all the Nordic countries met in Reykjavik for a two day coordination meeting on fisheries development aid. Main trends and advances in fisheries development worldwide were the top subjects in addition to an exchange of information on current and potential Nordic fisheries development aid projects.

Among specified subjects were FAO´s Code of Conduct for Responsible Fisheries + 10, illegal and unreported fishing activities, artisanal and small scale fisheries, HIV/AIDS and it´s impact on fisheries, the Sustainable Fisheries Livelihoods Programme in Western Africa and Tsunami relief in Asia.
