Adoption of the UPR report on Saint Kitts and Nevis
Friday 30 January, 14:30-18:00
Statement by Iceland

Mr. President,

On behalf of the Troika - composed of Bolivia, Ghana and my own country, Iceland - it is a great privilege to present the draft report of the UPR Working Group distributed under the reference A/HRC/62/15.

During the interactive dialogue with Saint Kitts and Nevis, held on 27 January 2025, 67 delegations delivered their statements, and ten delegations sent advance questions. As a result, the state under review received a total of 190 recommendations.

Mr. President,

On behalf of the Troika, we would like to thank all the members of the delegation of Saint Kitts and Nevis, led by Honorable Gart Wilkin, Attorney General and Minister of Justice and Legal Affairs.

We would also like to extend our thanks to other delegations for their constructive and active engagement in the process of the review and in the preparation of this report.

We welcome the commitment of Saint Kitts and Nevis to examine all recommendations and to provide its response to the recommendations made, no later than at the sixty-second session of the Human Rights Council.

The Troika would further like to extend its sincere thanks to the Secretariat for its dedicated support during the entire process.

Finally, on behalf of Troika, it is with pleasure to submit this report to the Working Group for adoption.

Thank you.
